She was around the all the time and they weren't a big deal...and have four dogs has made my pups less dog distracted as well.

I know a lot of schools(well..GDF to be specific) are against dogs spending time with other dogs, but the dogs NEED IT!

ANyways good luck, you'll get through it, remember the good days!!! Keep that in the fore front of your mind! :))

Erin,Gideon,Victoria,Bubbles and TExasErinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06193391675658982926noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8991878347710358809.post-21259726528389270772009-10-12T17:34:13.808-07:002009-10-12T17:34:13.808-07:00I love the photos of Cabana... they are fabulous! ...I love the photos of Cabana... they are fabulous! She's a good model!

I'm sorry to hear her "episodes" have resurfaced. I'm sure though, it's like Sarah said - just an regression in behaviors around that 1 year mark. All my dogs have done it.

You are doing such an amazing job with her. Don't beat yourself up about it.Lisa and pupshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00475778692834656836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8991878347710358809.post-35745695383327292952009-10-12T16:07:59.376-07:002009-10-12T16:07:59.376-07:00I'm glad to hear your arm is feeling better! I agree with Sarah and the 1 year mark. :) It seems like they kind of have a brain fart or something.

Also Loyola who graduated as a working guide was VERY distracted as a puppy and even before she went back. I agree with Emily and working her around other dogs. Even if it is just sitting as the other dogs pass by.

Good Luck! :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8991878347710358809.post-52658940317069363862009-10-12T14:32:56.269-07:002009-10-12T14:32:56.269-07:00That is good Cabana is getting the posing for the ...That is good Cabana is getting the posing for the camera down! Cricket knows that is an important part of the job! As i stated in my post, you puppy raisers are incredible. Our puppy classes are split; young pups one Every other Monday. And older pups on the in-between Mondays. If your puppy group does something like that, go to a class that Cabana is not in. See if you can walk Cabana around the other dogs, it really helped me with Hart's distraction problems. If your puppy group does a class all together, maybe ask your group leader if you can walk her around. Or, if you have a friend with a dog you can walk with, that'll help too! Glad to hear your arm's feeling better!Emily and Joelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02519132525123187914noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8991878347710358809.post-90320931952020574992009-10-12T12:23:19.390-07:002009-10-12T12:23:19.390-07:00That first picture is so good!!! You should submit it for the calender: it would make a perfect picture for one of the fall months!

Sorry you have been having trouble with Cabana again. I found that when my pups hit about 1 year old, they seem to regress in behaviors that I thought were gone for good. With Sterling his fear on outings became more pronounced, and with Millie she started having some problems with house behaviors again.

Good job on switching to a different head collar, the dogs can be really funny when you switch something around and all the sudden they think they rules do not apply to them anymore.

Hang in there, they do get better again!Sarah and the Pack.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12762168904677499109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8991878347710358809.post-72739233076518115322009-10-12T11:36:46.125-07:002009-10-12T11:36:46.125-07:00Cabana looks awesome with the pumpkins!
